Michigan Business Network joined community leaders for the annual 2026 Economic Forecast Breakfast on Thursday, January 15th. The 2026 Economic Forecast for Mid-Michigan is one of the most anticipated economic forecast events in our community. Highlighted by the debut of the results from the 40th Michigan Future Business Index Survey!
Industry experts reviewed regional, state, and national trends as they relate to Mid-Michigan, providing an overall economic forecast for our area.

ABOUT THE MFBI SURVEY: Part of this event includes the release of the Michigan Future Business Index Survey. Over 500 small and medium-sized businesses shared their opinions from mid-November to end-of-December 2025.
Since 2006, the Michigan Future Business Index has been conducted twice a year. It is underwritten by Cinnaire, presented by Michigan Business Network, and conducted by Paul King of ROI Insight who has been surveying business leaders. hanks to the participation of these business leaders we are able to amplify their voices and provide data for business advocacy organizations and policymakers that help Michigan businesses prosper.
