Traverse City, Mich. — Nominations are now being accepted for the annual Hospitality High Five Awards by Traverse City Tourism. Now in its second year, the awards honor those who excel in the Northwest Michigan hospitality industry.

The awards recognize top performers in lodging and hospitality-related businesses. Nominations will be accepted through March 14th at the High Five Awards. Award winners will be chosen by an independent committee of Northern Michigan hospitality experts and announced at the Traverse City Tourism Annual Meeting in May.

“There are so many hospitality superstars in our area,” said Traverse City Tourism President Trevor Tkach (tah-KACH.) “These are the people that make our area one of the premier travel destinations in the country. It’s appropriate to put the spotlight on their contributions.”

Nominations will be accepted in eight categories including:

  • Cheer-Leadership – recognizing those leading the way for the future of hospitality.
  • Tastemaker – recognizing chefs, and craft beverage producers who bring flavor to the region.
  • Front of the House – All Venues – exceptional guest relation services for food and beverage, activities, tours and attractions.
  • Front of the House – Lodging – Non-management employees for lodging properties that excel with customer service.
  • Back of House – All Venues – Team members, such as cooks, runners, dishwashers, and others who deliver energy and creativity to their daily work.
  • Back of House – Lodging – Hard-working individuals who work behind the scenes for lodging members.
  • Sales/Marketing/Finance – Team members that keep the hospitality businesses humming with the bottom line in the black.
  • Festivals/Events/Attractions – Those who orchestrate some of the many attractions that draw visitors to the region.

In addition to these eight categories, the selection committee will award a Hospitality All-Star taken from those nominated for the awards. Plus, the Traverse City Tourism Board of Directors will designate a Community Impact Award winner.

Nominees must have been involved in hospitality for at least two years. Businesses must be located in Grand Traverse, Benzie, Leelanau or Antrim Counties. Complete rules for nomination are available at: https://www.traversecity.com/hospitality-awards/.
