Tuesday, October 27, 2026, MBN was on the road, well, down the hall from our studio to Friendship Hall at the Capital Region International Airport
Capital Region International Airport (LAN) invited community members, business leaders, and local residents to review its long-term development vision at a Master Plan Public Open House on October 27, 2026.

The public forum provided an opportunity to explore proposed preferred development alternatives and share feedback to help guide the airport’s future infrastructure and operational growth.
The airport is a major Mid-Michigan economic asset, generating an estimated $1 billion in annual economic impact and supporting 700 airport jobs. The Capital Region Airport Authority also operates Mason Jewett Field Airport and Port Lansing, Mid-Michigan’s only U.S. Port of Entry.
Community input is an important part of planning for the airport’s future role in regional transportation, business connectivity, and economic development.
The full slide presentation will be accessible in a PDF accompanying the blogpost story where this video will be embedded, or you may contact the airport for more details.
