
Showcasing: Trades, Technology & Public Service Careers
Lansing, Mich. [March 9, 2022] – LCC will hold Tech Forward: Women in Trades from 8:30 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. Friday, March 18, at the West Campus location, 5708 Cornerstone Drive, Lansing.
The Tech Forward: Women in Trades, Technology, and Public Service Careers event is designed to expose those who self-identify as women, to careers that provide both financial stability and economic mobility. This women-centered event is intended to provide opportunities to learn about career pathways that might not have been previously accessible.
“We want to ensure that students of all backgrounds and walks of life have an opportunity to learn about, feel welcomed in, and be supported while attending our programs,” LCC Technical Careers Program Improvement Manager Nicole Reinhart-Huberty said. “This event also highlights the connections we have with our industry partners while showcasing the opportunities available to students after graduation.”
Tech Forward: Women in Trades, Technology, and Public Service Careers event is suitable for anyone seeking to learn more about programs in the Technical Careers Division that can help launch a career in one of these high-paying, high-demand fields.
The event will feature keynote speaker Megan Doherty, President, and CEO of F.D. Hayes Electric. Megan is the fourth generation of the Hayes family to own and operate the 98-year-old family business. She joined Hayes Electric in 2014 as the controller before becoming President and CEO in 2017. A graduate of Michigan State University with a bachelor’s degree in animal science with a specialization in agribusiness management, she serves on multiple construction industry boards including, Michigan Board of Directors of the National Electrical Contractors Association, Michigan Electrical Workers Health Plan, and the Lansing Labor Management Cooperative Fund. F.D. Hayes Electric was recognized in 2021 by Michigan Celebrates Small Business as a “Michigan 50 Companies to Watch.”
