A recent survey conducted by Schneider Electric and ABI Research, which gathered insights from 200 automotive sector decision-makers—including Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), battery manufacturers, and Charge Point Operators (CPOs)—sheds light on the primary hurdles and potential solutions for the industry to achieve its ambitious goals.

Take the Michigan Automotive Workforce Needs Assessment

The Center for Automotive Research is conducting a statewide study along with Michigan’s Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity and the Electric Vehicle Workforce Hub to examine the impact of automotive industry shifts on Michigan’s automotive workforce.

We are seeking feedback from employers across Michigan’s extended automotive supply chain, including:

  • Upstream automotive sectors (including materials, processes, general parts, components manufacturing and engineering)

  • Automotive parts manufacturing and automotive assembly

  • Downstream automotive sectors (including sales, fueling, dealerships, repair, maintenance, and logistics).

We kindly ask for your perspective via our online survey, available between September and October 10, 2025.
