Gaylord Area Chamber of Commerce: Special Shoutouts!

Versiti Blood Center of Michigan is proud to be part of the Northern Michigan community—showing up every day to help save lives through blood donation. As the primary blood provider for local hospitals, including Munson Healthcare Otsego Memorial Hospital, the blood donated right here stays right here—supporting neighbors facing emergencies, surgeries, cancer treatments, and more. It’s a simple idea with a powerful impact: when our community gives, our community is cared for.

Right now, we’re focused on making donation as easy and accessible as possible for those in Gaylord and the surrounding area. Our downtown Gaylord donation center is open Saturday through Tuesday, and you’ll also find us out in the community at regular mobile blood drives. Whether you stop in or roll up your sleeve at a local event, every donation helps ensure blood is ready the moment it’s needed.

And giving blood is easier than most people think—it’s safe, simple, takes about an hour, and most healthy adults can participate. One hour of your time can mean a lifetime for someone else.

We’re also proud to invest in the next generation of lifesavers. Through our Leaders for Life program, local high school students can earn cords, grants, and scholarship opportunities while making a real difference. As the official community blood partner of the Detroit Lions, we’re working across the state to raise awareness and inspire more people to step up and give. Here in Northern Michigan, we partner with local businesses, schools, first responders, and community organizations to create meaningful ways for people to get involved close to home.

If you’ve ever considered donating, there’s no better time. Visit our Gaylord center, find a nearby drive, or even host one of your own! Together, we can make sure lifesaving blood is always there—for every patient, every time it’s needed.
