Michigan AEYC qualified for Going PRO Talent Fund support
LANSING, Mich. — Capital Area Michigan Works! (CAMW!) proudly presented a ceremonial check to representatives from the Michigan Association for the Education of Young Children (AEYC) to celebrate the award of more than $8,600 from the Going PRO Talent Fund, which helps organizations train new or existing workers to increase their skillsets.
“There’s a reason that Going PRO Talent Fund is one of the most popular programs we administer,” CAMW! CEO Carrie Rosingana said. “Businesses get a better workforce, and workers get new skills to help them thrive. Plus, the grants are reimbursement-based, so no money goes out the door until the training is complete.”
Michigan AEYC plans to use the funding for staff professional development, including an AI microcredential program.
“We are proud to partner with the Capital Area Michigan Works! and the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity: Going PRO Talent Fund to be able to provide our staff with individualized high-quality professional development,” Michigan AEYC CEO Erica Willard said. “Investing in our staff helps foster career longevity and leadership within our field. We are incredibly grateful for this partnership, which recognizes that supporting our workforce is a direct investment in Michigan’s future!”
State Rep. Angela Witwer (Delta Township), whose district includes the offices of Michigan AEYC, also expressed her support.
“Congratulations to Michigan AEYC for receiving this well-deserved award,” Witwer said. “It is my honor to pursue state investment in organizations like Michigan AEYC. Their support for our neighbors in Eaton County in the early childhood field at every stage — from early learning to high school CTE credentialing to workplace development — already strengthens our community. I look forward to seeing this investment in their incredible staff further that mission.”
