Lansing’s chilliest winter event returns after 10 years bringing frosty fun for all ages

LANSING, Mich. (Jan. 7, 2025) – Lansing 5:01 and Downtown Lansing Inc., announces they have teamed up for Lansing Frost Fest on Saturday, March 1 from 3 to 6 p.m. at Rotary Park in Downtown Lansing. Lansing’s chilliest winter event will return after 10 years with a beer and wine-tasting festival featuring the best beverages Michigan has to offer and winter fun for all ages.

“We are so excited for the return of Frost Fest, where winter magic meets local flavor,” said Cathleen Edgerly, Executive Director of DLI. “During the winter months, it can be so easy to want to stay inside, which is why we are thrilled to partner with our friends at Lansing 5:01 to bring back Frost Fest to encourage Lansing to get outside and support local businesses, entrepreneurs and makers in Michigan’s Downtown and beyond.”

Set against the scenic Grand River, this family-friendly event in Lansing’s Rotary Park brings together winter games, cozy fire pits, live entertainment and frosty fun for all ages. Guests will sip and savor unique brews and wines from regional breweries, wineries and cider houses while exploring Frost Fest’s vibrant winter atmosphere.

“There’s something for everyone at Frost Fest,” said Chris Sell, Founder and Executive Director of Lansing 5:01. “There is so much to love about Lansing, especially during the winter season, and Frost Fest is a chance for our community to get outside and show some to love to Lansing while enjoying great Michigan-made beverages, winter games, live music and so much more. Lansing Frost Fest event activities include:

  • Winter Games: Interactive winter-themed competitions and activities designed for all ages.
  • Ice Sculptures: Stunning displays and live carving demonstrations.
  • Fire Pits & S’mores: Stay warm and cozy with classic campfire treats.
  • Artisan Market: Shop local goods, handmade crafts, and winter-themed treasures.
  • Live Entertainment: Groove to live music featuring The Love Effect, keeping the energy high.

General Admission tickets are $35 until January 19, after which they will increase to $40 and $50 during the week of the event. General admission includes festival entry, a souvenir glass, 10 sampling tickets and complimentary coffee and hot cocoa. VIP tickets are available for $60 each until January 19 for an enhanced experience. After the early bird deadline, VIP tickets increase to $65, then $80 during the week of the event. VIP ticket holders will enjoy early entry at 2 p.m., access to the VIP warming lounge, a souvenir glass, a souvenir winter hat, 15 sampling tickets and complimentary coffee and hot cocoa.

Tickets for those under 21 are $10 and include admission and complimentary coffee and hot cocoa. Guests are encouraged to bring designated drivers to the event. Designated Driver tickets are available for $10 and include admission and complimentary coffee and hot cocoa. Those who purchase Designated Driver tickets will not be eligible to purchase drink tickets during the event.
