Each year, Affordable Housing Finance (AHF) honors the best in affordable housing development through its AHF Readers’ Choice Awards, recognizing outstanding projects that demonstrate innovation, impact and a strong commitment to expanding access to high-quality, affordable homes. Each project is unique and highlights the diverse range of affordable housing for families, seniors, formerly homeless individuals and those with special needs.
We are proud to share that two of Cinnaire’s investments – The Anchor at Mariners Inn in Detroit, MI, and Forest Edge Apartments in Lac du Flambeau, WI – have been named finalists in this year’s competition.
Permanent Supportive Housing Finalist – The Anchor at Mariners Inn

Nestled in the heart of Midtown Detroit’s historic Cass Park neighborhood, The Anchor at Mariners Inn is a transformative development that addresses the critical need for accessible housing for individuals who have experienced or are currently facing chronic homelessness. Developed through a collaboration between Cinnaire Solutions and Mariners Inn, this new construction project brings 44 permanent supportive housing units and 40 recovery housing units to the neighborhood. In addition, the development includes retail space to increase access to essential goods and services in the community.

Family Finalist – Forest Edge Apartments

Forest Edge Apartments is a 40-unit development in northern Wisconsin, offering affordable homes for members of the Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians and workers in the Northwoods tourism industry. Located adjacent to tribal lands, this newly constructed development provides safe, high-quality homes while fostering community connection. Featuring a clubhouse, community room, exercise facility, property management office, and a dedicated community service facility, Forest Edge offers residents essential amenities and support services. The project represents a significant investment in housing stability, economic opportunity and the wellbeing of families in the region.
