“We know that Governor Whitmer and the Legislature recognize additional work is still needed to put Michigan in a competitive position to win thousands of new jobs for its people, and hope she will utilize this opportunity, while acknowledging our state’s strengths and assets, to speak to the further action our state’s leaders can take to establish a consistent economic development strategy.

“The remaining work includes passage of the Michigan Employment Opportunity Program, which has bipartisan support in the House and Senate, a single touchpoint for employers to easily access qualified talent, and giving the Michigan Economic Development Corporation the resources to become the best of its kind in the nation.”
