Visa said Thursday that some of this year’s Olympic athletes will be sporting some new bling: a payment ring that makes it easier for them to pay for purchases. The Visa payment ring, the first wearable ring backed by a Visa account, will allow 45 Olympic hopefuls on Team Visa to make purchases by simply tapping their ring at any NFC-enabled payment terminal. (Visa’s installing 4,000 such terminals at key Olympic venues for electronic payments.)
