U.S. stocks ended the week on a high note, with the main indexes advancing more than 1% on Friday. The main benchmarks, however, still posted modest losses over the week.
The S&P closed up 23 points at 2,109. The Dow jumped 184 points to 18,024 and the Nasdaq gained 64 points to 5,005, but ended the week with a 1.7% loss, mostly due to a large selloff in biotechnology industry.
