
At the Mackinac Policy Conference, it’s natural to touch base with policy makers. On the federal level Michigan U.S. Senator Gary Peters gives his perspective, as Chris notes he is well informed, well versed on business issues, as Senator Peters came out of the small business sector. They discuss energy issues and then tackle the big point of handling the talent issue in Michigan. From there they review challenges in education funding, especially urban districts. Peters focuses on what the Head Start program can do to get young students on a better path, also citing where he would like to see expanded funding.
