UM Health-Sparrow offers Alternate Routes for Downtown Amidst Michigan Avenue Construction

mbn umh sLANSING, MI –The Michigan Avenue road construction project is creeping closer to the University of Michigan Health-Sparrow Lansing campus, and that will impact our team members, patients and visitors, especially those coming from the east (such as East Lansing, Okemos and the Williamston areas).

But, with a little planning and extra time, the project doesn’t have to affect patient care or access to UM Health-Sparrow services.

UM Health-Sparrow is providing alternate routes to our downtown locations, such as the hospital, Herbert-Herman Cancer Center and Sparrow Professional Building, Find the latest information at uofmhealthsparrow.org/news/navigating-michigan-avenue-construction. We’ve also created a map of alternate routes: download HERE

Starting the week of July 7, the project is expected to extend from Lathrop Street west to the traffic light at Holmes and Michigan Avenue at the east end of the hospital. That impacts several UM Health-Sparrow buildings on Michigan Avenue.

Starting in August, the road work will extend farther west on Michigan Avenue in front of the hospital. But access to UM Health-Sparrow buildings will be maintained throughout construction.
