LANSING, Mich. – A Lansing youth softball team made a major league donation to C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital at UM Health-Sparrow Wednesday, delivering 5,000 colorful Band-Aids collected through a community drive.
The team presented the donation to UM Health-Sparrow pediatric leaders, aiming to support and cheer young patients. The project, organized by the players, taught the value of community service while providing a practical gift for children during their hospital stay.
“We are profoundly grateful for this generous and thoughtful donation from the HangTuf team,” said Tonyie Andrews-Johnson, Director of Pediatrics and Women’s Services at UM Health-Sparrow Lansing.
UM -Sparrow is always grateful for the community coming together to help those in need.
“Our goal is simple: to help heal scrapes and share smiles,” said Tomi Zagata, HangTuf Head Coach. “We wanted to do something that would help other kids.”
