Psych Tank: Funding Competition – Monday, Sep 19 – 4-6:30 PM EST

Psych Tank features six interdisciplinary team experts presenting novel research ideas in front of a panel of judges for a chance at funding-up to $150,000. Participating teams represent units across U-M, including Psychology, Psychiatry, Public Health, Social Work, and Emergency Medicine just to name a few.

Nucleate Activator in Ann Arbor – Wednesday, Aug 31st – 6 PM EST – Michigan League Ballroom

Nucleate is a free and collaborative student-led organization that facilitates the formation of pioneering life sciences companies. Join us for an evening of networking with students, academics, and industry professionals. We look forward to sharing our plans for the Activator program and our vision for the Michigan Biotech ecosystem!

Shift Creator Space Open Houses – Tues & Wed, Sept 6th & 7th – 7 PM EST – on-campus house, 923 S State Street

Shift Creator Space is a group of creators who make, hack, and learn stuff outside of the classroom. Whether that be hacking together an app, painting and sketching, making beats, or woodworking, Shift provides the resources and space for creators to fully execute on ideas, grow from each other, and learn how to learn outside of the classroom.

Zell Lurie Institute Information Session – Tuesday, Aug 30th – 4:30-5:30 PM EST – Michigan Ross R0210

Any student interested in entrepreneurship or venture capital is welcome and encouraged to attend. We’ll provide a general overview of the programs and resources we offer. Discover ways you can launch your venture, work at a startup, learn the entrepreneurial mindset, learn how to think and act like an investor, or simply explore what an experience in entrepreneurship could look like. Zell Entrepreneurs Information Session – Thursday, Sep 8th – 5-6 PM EST – Michigan Ross R2310

Join us to learn more about Zell Entrepreneurs, an elite program designed to provide support to U-M students who are preparing to launch/operate their companies upon graduation. The selected students will receive up to $10,000 in support and resources to get their ventures launch-ready, through intense mentorship and programming. Zell Entrepreneurs may also be invited to work with students at other Zell Centers, including locations in Israel and Chicago. Dare to Dream Information Session – Monday, Sep 12th – 6-7 PM EST – Michigan Ross R0210

Join us to learn about Zell Lurie Institute’s grant programs for student entrepreneurs. The Mayleben Venture Shaping and Applebaum Dare to Dream grants support U-M Ann Arbor students through three phases of the business creation process by providing startup workshops, mentoring, and funding of $300-$5,000 (based on phase of program).
