LANSING – The Tri-County Alliance for Public Education has released the following statement from Executive Director Robert McCann in response to the rushed passage of HB 5910-5913.
“Educators have asked Lansing for months to provide clarity, flexibility and funding in order to plan for a safe reopening of schools this fall. Instead, only a month away from the start of the school year, we have a package of bills moving that would only put more obstacles in place and make every educator’s job that much harder. If schools are unable to reopen their doors this fall, look no further than our Legislature as to why as they continue to ignore the need for the policies and resources necessary for that to happen. Our students deserve far better than this.”
