Medical Drone Delivery Report Details Successful Pilot
Munson Healthcare, Central Michigan University’s Rural Health Excellence Institute, and Traverse Connect partnered with blueflite, a Michigan-based drone manufacturer, and DroneUp, a national drone operator, to conduct the region’s first medical drone delivery pilot project. The report details the results of the first phase of the Munson Drone Delivery pilot program, which conducted nearly 70 flights from May 9-20.
This pilot was made possible thanks to the support and funding of the Advanced Air Mobility Activation (AAM) Fund, with additional support from Newlab. The AAM Fund, a collaborative effort between the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT), the Office of Future Mobility and Electrification (OFME), and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), aims to increase coordination across State entities and create a centralized pipeline of projects that can accelerate AAM readiness and growth in the state.
