“It doesn’t matter if you are a seasoned wine enthusiast or someone just starting to explore the remarkable flavors of the region. Traverse City Uncorked opens a surprising world of the local beverage scene,” said Traverse City Tourism President, Trevor Tkach (tah-KACH).
Traverse City has two wine-growing regions on the Leelanau and Old Mission peninsulas. Together the produce about 60 percent of Michigan wines. They are renowned for cool-climate wines that are nurtured by a micro-climate created by Lake Michigan and a sandy soil courtesy of receding glaciers.
