Introducing Comcast RISE
TechTown and our local partners BUILD Institute, Venture Catalysts and Grand Innovation are proud to introduce Comcast RISE – an initiative that provides monetary grants to help Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC)-owned, small businesses grow as they navigate the challenges of the pandemic.
Comcast RISE includes:
MONETARY GRANT: A $10,000 grant distributed to 100 businesses in Detroit, Highland Park and Hamtramck for a total of $1,000,000. Applications are open March 1 – 14, 2021.
MARKETING & TECHNOLOGY PACKAGE: Now through August 2022 on a quarterly basis, Comcast will select businesses to receive a combination of:
• Marketing and advertising consulting
• Media
• Creative production
• Technology makeover
SAVE THE DATE: TechTown, BUILD Institute, Venture Catalysts and Grand Innovation will host an info session with Pamela Dover, Senior Director of Business Development & Marketing, Comcast Business on Feb. 23 at 2 p.m. to discuss the Comcast RISE initiative and how to apply. Retail Boot Camp Applications Open February 15
Retail Boot Camp is an intensive, hands-on, 10-week program that prepares serious entrepreneurs for the opening of their brick-and-mortar establishments in Detroit. The program curriculum is designed to strengthen businesses as they look to thrive in today’s retail environment.
TechTown is offering four Info Sessions for prospective Retail Boot Camp applicants to learn more about the program and application process. Register for an Info Session below. The sessions are as follows:
- Tuesday, February 16 @ 6 p.m.
- Tuesday, February 23 @ 6 p.m.
- Tuesday, March 2 @ 6 p.m.
- Tuesday, March 9 @ 6 p.m.
