Sparrow becomes lead sponsor of Cap City Athletic 1847 youth soccer program

LANSING, MI – Sparrow has been named title sponsor of Cap City Athletic 1847, a perfect marriage of the healthcare system’s leading-edge Sports Medicine program and highly skilled physicians with Lansing’s premier soccer club.

Sparrow was selected as sponsor because of its standing as Mid-Michigan’s leading healthcare provider and the region’s only community-based, community-owned, community-governed health system. Sparrow Orthopedics and Sports Medicine recently added four highly skilled and experienced surgeons, building a comprehensive program that is a destination for patients throughout Michigan.

Sparrow will be featured on Cap City Athletic 1847 jerseys, social media, and other channels. More than 700 players representing families from cities throughout Mid-Michigan are part of the Cap City Athletic 1847 soccer club, covering ages 3 to 17-plus. Tryouts for various Cap City Athletic 1847 soccer teams will be held this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, June 11-12, at the East Lansing Soccer Complex, 3700 Coleman Road.

“We’re excited not only to work with Cap City Athletic 1847 but to raise awareness about one of the leading Sports Medicine programs in the area,” said David Mangan, Sparrow’s Vice President of Marketing and Communications. “This is an ideal platform to connect with local families about Sparrow’s highly skilled Sports Medicine team.”

Cap City Athletics 1847 focuses on player development, character development, and a lifelong passion for soccer. For more information, go to Capcityathletic.com.
