MSU dance marathon to benefit the University of Michigan Health at Sparrow Children’s Center

LANSING, MI – In the wake of tragedy, Michigan State University students are rallying together in song and dance this weekend to make miracles happen. Spartython returns Saturday, Feb 25, raising thousands of dollars for the University of Michigan Health at Sparrow Children’s Center, the region’s only Children’s Miracle Network Hospital.

The all-day student-led dance marathon benefits the sick and injured children of our community and helps strengthen the programs that give our young patients the best care possible, close to home.  Last year, Spartython raised $32,000.

“Although we understand campus may not feel like it once did, we plan to spend the day bringing people together in support of an amazing cause as we planned,” said Maddy Fleury, Spartython 2023 President. “We refuse to let something so unprecedented stand in the way of joining hands as a community to support Sparrow Children’s Center and to support one another as we move forward from the unthinkable. We plan to stand together and make miracles happen because we are Spartans and Spartans are strong.”

The MSU dance marathon will be held on campus at the IM Circle beginning at 10 a.m. Registration for the event is closed, but you can still donate at Spartython.weebly.com.

Sparrow is home to the region’s only full-service pediatric emergency department and Regional Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (RNICU).  The University of Michigan Health at Sparrow Children’s Center provides the most comprehensive range of specialty services and treatment options to our pediatric patients and their families in Mid-Michigan.
