LANSING, MI –Thursday marked the 125th anniversary of when a group of female volunteers helped open the doors of Sparrow Hospital on March 18, 1896.

While there will be a major celebration in the fall, Sparrow held a mini-event to recognize a $25,000 donation from the Sparrow Guild volunteer group to the Sparrow Foundation in honor of our 125th year.

The gift will support a major Sparrow Heritage Project that we will unveil later this year. Sparrow President and CEO James Dover (far right) and volunteer leaders appeared in the slide at the bottom of this article which was part of the check presentation which followed brief remarks.
