(Detroit) – The Southeast Michigan Chamber of Commerce recently became the second Michigan Chamber of Commerce to endorse Mike Duggan in his Independent campaign for governor.
“We have witnessed under Mayor Mike Duggan’s leadership, Detroit’s transformation from Chapter 9 bankruptcy into one of America’s greatest comeback stories. His leadership brought back manufacturing jobs, fueled economic growth, reduced violent crime to its lowest level in decades, and rebuilt trust in public safety and city services. Mayor Duggan revitalized neighborhoods by removing blight, raising property values, and restoring pride in the heart of the city,” said John Johnson, CEO and Board Chair of the Southeast Michigan Chamber. “His proven record of fiscal discipline, efficient leadership, and inclusive vision for progress makes him exactly the results-driven leader Michigan needs as its next governor.”
The Southeast Michigan Chamber of Commerce represents businesses across 15 communities and 700,000 residents, offering networking events, business development programs, and exclusive member benefits.
Southeast Michigan Chamber of Commerce, with nearly 1,000 members, includes affiliates Warren Center Line Chamber of Commerce, Sterling Heights Chamber of Commerce, and Gratiot Avenue Chamber of Commerce Macomb.
“I appreciate the members of the Southeast Michigan Chamber of Commerce for providing their endorsement–an endorsement is about results, not politics,” said Duggan. “In Detroit, we proved that when you stop playing partisan games and focus on solving problems, communities thrive. That’s the kind of leadership I’ll bring to every corner of Michigan.”
