The topic in Something to Think About is “The Other Side of the Coin.” About two weeks ago, Paul Krugman, Nobel laureate economist, wrote an article in the NY Times touting the positive economic gains under President Obama and the boom in the number of jobs.
President Obama, in his State of the Union Address, also showcased the economy and job market. But is that the whole story? Does other data provide a different narrative? Has the job market improved as dramatically as the two represent? Is the problem that people can pick and choose information that best tells their story? Should a full explanation be given rather than a few sound bites?
