Jeffrey Mosher talks with Teri Sand, Business Service Team Leader, at the Capital Area Michigan Works!, about the Skilled Trades Training Fund (STTF) Program, which is designed to provide funds for businesses to help train their workers. There is collaboration between the Michigan Works! Agencies, economic development, and educational partners. During the most current phase of the program, there were 60 applications and 50 approvals, providing $2.3 million in training dollars.
Teri shared examples of companies that have benefited from this program, including healthcare companies and manufacturing companies. Teri also indicated that if there are employers interested in applying for the next round, now is a good time to get started.
