WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Gary Peters (MI) will begin his annual motorcycle tour across Michigan on Monday, August 25th. Peters’ “Miles for Michigan” tour will make stops in Fenton Township, Lansing, and Battle Creek. Peters will be joined on the ride by veterans, union workers, and constituents.
“There’s no better way to get from point A to point B than on a motorcycle. So, I’m thrilled to have another opportunity to ride across our beautiful state and hear from Michiganders directly during this year’s tour,” said Senator Peters. “I’m looking forward to meeting with local leaders who are making progress on issues that matter to Michiganders, like expanding access to safe drinking water and bolstering workforce development programs that connect our young people to good-paying jobs.”
“I’ll also be meeting with constituents who will be impacted by the Trump Administration’s devastating attacks on Medicaid, food assistance, and community programs like Head Start to push back and bring attention to these catastrophic policies,” Peters continued.
Peters will start the tour in Fenton Township on Monday, August 25th and conclude the tour in Battle Creek on Tuesday, August 26th. Additional information regarding his stops will be announced in the coming days.
This year marks Peters’ ninth motorcycle tour. Peters is an avid and long-time motorcycle rider who founded the bipartisan Senate Motorcycle Caucus in 2017.
