There are several pieces of proposed legislation that, if enacted, will be harmful to Michigan’s small businesses.

Issues at hand include:

• Limiting the work of independent contractors
• New reporting requirements, restrictions, and record-keeping rules for businesses operating as temporary employment agencies
• Predictive scheduling for the retail, restaurant, and hospitality industry
• Wage disclosure and job description maintenance requirements
