The Wilson Foundation’s goal is to invest nearly $2 Billion over 20 years in both Detroit and Buffalo regions. This money is being invested on various community needs, driven by their grant awarding process. One of their original internal goals is to help people in both regions find good-paying jobs, especially those without four-year degrees. That created the demand for Paul and Lou’s research, which will ultimately help determine a pathway to funding programs that prepare those looking for jobs and advise employers looking for talent.
According to Lou Glazer at Michigan Future, Wilson Foundation is interested in promoting the research findings and organizing in-depth discussions across both communities (Detroit and Buffalo), to better determine community needs and fund programs that help them reach these goals.
