Stephanie Winslow, executive director of the PACE Association of Michigan, released the following statement today regarding the recent reintroduction of the PACE Expanded Act to strengthen the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly.

“The Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) provides life-enriching services and support so that Michigan seniors can thrive in their own communities. PACE caregivers and organizations are eager to expand their practices to best serve our state. They are uniquely capable of addressing the growing aging population, caregiver crisis, workforce shortages, and decreasing revenues by states.”

“The Expanded Act supports the expansion of current PACE programs and serves as a catalyst for new programs. The bipartisan legislation offers PACE programs greater flexibility to enroll beneficiaries throughout the year, improving access and affordability for Medicare-only beneficiaries. In addition, a pilot program will help test PACE models in new populations.”

“The PACE Association of Michigan and our members appreciate the tireless efforts of Michigan Congresswoman Debbie Dingell and Congressman John Moolenaar to fight for options that are in the best interest of older Michiganders. They truly understand that Michigan seniors and all older Americans with long-term care needs deserve to live their best lives at home rather than in a nursing home.”
