Ford Mobilizes Michigan’s EV Future
A new generational investment from Ford Motor Company is positioning the state to remain a leader in transportation technology. On Feb. 13, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer joined Ford leaders at Ford Ion Park as the automaker announced an investment of more than $3.5 billion to construct a 2.5 million-square-foot EV battery manufacturing facility in Marshall. BlueOval Battery Park Michigan will manufacture batteries used in several of the company’s key EVs.

“We are committed to leading the electric vehicle revolution in America, and that means investing in the technology and jobs that will keep us on the cutting edge of this global transformation in our industry,” said Bill Ford. “I am also proud that we chose our home state of Michigan for this critical battery production hub.”
