Following a competitive six-month, nationwide candidate search process, Governor Gretchen Whitmer has announced the appointment of Justine Johnson as Chief Mobility Officer and head of the Office of Future Mobility and Electrification (OFME), effective Aug. 21, 2023. Johnson succeeds Kathryn Snorrason as Interim Chief Mobility Officer and Trevor Pawl as the state’s first-ever Chief Mobility Officer.OFME-url-1

USGS and Partners Deploy Autonomous Vehicles on Michigan’s Great Lakes

Utilizing an autonomous wind and solar-powered vehicle called the Saildron Explorer, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) is conducting fishery surveys on Lake Michigan and Lake Huron. These advanced technologies aim to improve fishery science and support the $7 billion Great Lakes fishery through collaborative partnerships between the USGS and various fishery management agencies including the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR).

Michigan Joins Largest Mobility Industry Trade Show in Israel
 

A delegation organized by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), the Michigan-Israel Business Accelerator (MIBA), and the Detroit Regional Partnership traveled to Israel for this year’s Ecomotion conference.
