Oakland County Deputy Sheriff’s Association Endorses Mike Duggan for Governor

Michigan Business Network: Duggan for Michigan

(Detroit) – The Oakland County Deputy Sheriff’s Association today announced its endorsement of Independent candidate Mike Duggan for Governor.

“Mike Duggan is a proven champion for law enforcement who never turned his back on us, even when it was politically difficult,” said Jason Marshall, president of the Oakland County Deputy Sheriff’s Association. “Mike Duggan understands that when policing is done the right way, it is safer for officers and it works better for the communities we serve.”

The OCDSA represents over 750 members that work for the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office by bargaining for fair compensation, shift hours and working conditions.

OCDSA’s endorsement builds on the momentum of Duggan’s 18 other union endorsements. He’s earned more labor endorsements than any of the Democratic candidates combined, as well as more than 150 clergy, endorsements from major Michigan business groups and over 200 elected officials.

“Earning the endorsement of the OCDSA shows that my approach with law enforcement and our communities during my time as Mayor of Detroit was successful, and I’ll continue that approach as Governor to show those that have endorsed me that I’m the guy who delivers,” Duggan said. “Thank you to OCDSA for our conversations, what they’ve taught me and of course, for the endorsement as well. It’s an honor to be trusted by those that protect and serve.”
