Joining Sara and Bob is Steve Willobee, from LEAP, on the Accelerating Capital initiative. Through advancements in particle acceleration, the NSCL and FRIB are creating a new industry in the Lansing area that will require support in the future. LEAP is working to develop a strategy for expansion in the industry, as well as attracting additional companies and talent surrounding the industry.
In the second segment, Bob and Sara continue their conversation on talent as well as discuss some newsie things that have happened. The Lansing area’s population growth will be the largest in the state of Michigan by 2030. Also, Lansing was recently named one of the 10 BEST affordable places to live by livability.com.
