MWF | Celebrate Women’s Equality Day

The Michigan Women’s Historical Center and Hall of Fame reopened its doors after a global pandemic and a flood, this past Thursday. They celebrate the resiliency of this beloved long-standing institution along with the many inspiring Michigan women inducted and recognized for their perseverance and innovation. We also remember the center’s founder, Dr. Gladys Beckwith, who refused to give up on the idea of a world where gender equity is a reality.

The center is known as HERstory after Michigan Women Forward assumed responsibility for its care in 2018. However, the change in ownership and name does not change the importance of its mission: to educate our community and celebrate the contributions and accomplishments of Michigan women. Our future vision is where HERstory IS history and where women and other marginalized genders are truly equal.

We hope you will continue to celebrate HERstory with MWF this fall at the 38th Annual Michigan Women’s Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. The virtual induction ceremony, celebrating our 6 new exceptional inductees, takes place on October 26 at noon in addition to in-person intimate meet and greets on October 28 in Detroit, and November 9 in Grand Rapids.

Thank you for continuing to make HERstory with us. We honor and celebrate your resiliency every day.

In solidarity,

Meaghan Bergman
