After seven years Association Impact is in the capable hands of a new crew. Taylor Benavente takes over as host for Cheryl Ronk, and MSAE, the Michigan Society of Association Executives is under the new leadership of Kelly Turner CAE, who succeeds Ms. Ronk after her three decades of leadership. In this episode several key team members of MSAE’s staff and board share their job focus, and things they are looking forward to in 2019.

In the first segment, we are introduced to Association Impact’s new host, Taylor Benavente, MSAE’s Association Industry Advocate, as he welcomes the first pair of MSAE staff members onto the show, Ryan Handy and Donovan Snow. Learn more about MSAE’s two most recent hires and how their perceptions of the Michigan association industry have changed since coming aboard.

We are next joined by Denise Amburgey, Chief Financial Officer, and General Mangager of the MSAE Service Corporation as she reflects on her career path, her many job functions, and her thoughts on the notable shifts in the association industry within the last five years.

Kelly Chase, CMP and Maryanne Greketis, CMP make up the MSAE events team. In this segment, we learn more about their professional backgrounds, their work in coordinating and evolving MSAE signature events, as well as their own personal favorite events to attend.

Meet Kelly Turner, CAE, President & CEO of MSAE. Join us as she shares her own path through the association management profession, commentary on the current state of the organization, and her visions for the future.

The current Chair of the MSAE Board of Directors, Denise McGinn, CAE is the President of Association Guidance; headquartered in East Lansing. She discusses her history with MSAE dating back to the late 1980s and how the organization and industry has grown in the following years. 

In the last segment of the “MSAE Staff Special”, Kelly Turner, CAE and Denise McGinn, CAE return to offer a strategic look ahead to 2019 in which they discuss current and emerging organizational priorities, the staff and board relationship, and conclude with MSAE’s calendar of upcoming educational and professional development opportunities.
