WHAT:
On Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2025, the Michigan Department of Lifelong Education, Advancement, and Potential (MiLEAP) will host the Moving Michigan Males Forward convening in Lansing, bringing together state, business, education, workforce leaders, and philanthropic organizations to advance strategies that improve outcomes for Michigan’s young men.
This event will feature keynote remarks from Richard V. Reeves, founding president of the American Institute for Boys and Men (AIBM) and a national leader in evidence-based research on the challenges facing boys and men. Additional sessions will include panel discussions with state, education and business leaders exploring effective models and partnerships that help men successfully transition to higher education and into the workforce.
The convening is part of MiLEAP’s response to Governor Whitmer’s executive directive to increase outreach to Michigan men and expand access to tuition-free pathways to earn a skill certificate or degree leading to high-wage careers.
