Although it may have been a shorter work week for many, opportunity in Middle Michigan never takes a holiday. Each week brings new ways for our businesses to grow, our people to shine, and our communities to thrive – and that’s something worth celebrating.
This week, we’re excited to welcome a new member to our team: Jordan Heinrich. Jordan will be the friendly voice you hear when you call our office as she steps into the role of part-time office manager. We’re thrilled to have her on board and can’t wait to introduce her to all the incredible work happening across our region.
And speaking of incredible work – don’t forget to mark your calendar for October 1st! We’ll be hosting our 4th Downtown Pitch at GT Norman Elementary in Reed City, starting at 6:30 pm. This event is all about celebrating entrepreneurship and the dreams of local small businesses. With the support of our generous partners, one standout idea will receive $10,000 to help bring that dream to life. Plus, attendees will get to help decide the People’s Choice Award, which starts with $1,000 from Middle Michigan but grows with every contribution made before and during the event.
While we gear up for that big night, we invite you to check out the latest resources we’ve gathered below for businesses, community groups, and individuals. These tools are here to make it easier to succeed, because when local people and businesses succeed, our whole region grows stronger. Have a resource to share? Send it our way – we’d love to include it in an upcoming newsletter or on social media.
At Middle Michigan, we’re proud to help bring new investment into our region, support businesses that are shaping our local economy, and strengthen the communities we’re all proud to call home.
Sincerely
Kati Mora

Welcome Jordan Heinrich to the team!Jordan is joining the MMDC team as our new Office Manager. She was born and raised in Mt. Pleasant, MI, and has always had a deep love for this community—it’s home in every sense of the word.
She earned her associate’s degree from the Saginaw Chippewa Tribal College and is currently working on my bachelor’s degree online through Davenport University. Education has always been important to me, and I’m passionate about growing both personally and professionally.
Family and community are at the heart of everything she does, and she is really looking forward to bringing that spirit into her work here at MMDC.
