On Monday, August 31, Jeffrey Mosher hit the road to the Ford Conference and Event Center, and interviewed Dr. David Closs, Professor and Chairman of the Supply Chain Management Department at Michigan State University.

They talk about how the Michigan Supply Chain Innovation Summit came to be, and how innovation in supply chain can enhance both corporate performance and economic development. Dr. Closs reviews different supply chain performances, from the auto industry to McDonalds hamburgers, and how the conference is an education platform. David explains that one of the key components of logistics in supply chain is infrastructure. He also mentions a shift back to regionalism, because of security and sustainability reasons.
