Chris talks with Carl Klimek, President of 2 Perspectives, Learning through Leadership. They talk about the recent Michigan Science Teachers Association annual conference, which was held this year in Lansing, MI. There were two major gains that happened on the State level. One is the new science and engineering standards, and how to teach and integrate this is very exciting. Another positive happening was the Governor appointed a new advisory council to help guide and advise the Legislature and the Governor on direction visioning on what STEM could look like.
They also discussed Square One, which is involved in V2X (vehicle connects to everything). Square One has provided the first set of teacher training and classroom kit materials for the new Lab School Project. This has significant ties to Michigan’s economic future.
