General Motors reported a 0.7 percent decrease in total August deliveries in the U.S. to over 270,000 units. Its retail deliveries were up 6 percent to 225,000 units, but its fleet sales were down 24 percent.
The Department of Insurance and Financial services has approved rate increases that average 6.5 percent for health care plans on the federally-facilitated marketplace, it announced. The health insurance marketplace was put into motion by the Affordable Care Act, sometimes referred to as “Obamacare.”
The percentage of Michigan residents without health insurance dropped significantly in 2014 from 2013, federal figures show. The improvement in the number of residents with insurance also came during the year that more lower-income residents could sign up for Medicaid coverage under the Healthy Michigan program.
