Michigan Business Network host of Party @ MI Place, Sue Bila, the Executive Director of Michigan Festivals and Events Association (MFEA), drops by the studio to speak with Chris about the summer festival season. Numbers are up across the state, attendance has been good and it shouldn’t be forgotten how much economic impact these have for areas.
Sponsor engagement remains strong or is growing and social media has brought attention to events enticing people to visit areas for more than just day trips to a festival. MFEA is also well into planning their annual convention in November, which this year will be happening up at Boyne Mountain. They are also looking forward to continued website redesign. Sue and Chris also look back at the June event on the lawn of the state capitol, which connected hundreds of festival’s royalty, with their representatives and state senators in Lansing.
