BioTalent Strategy Roundtable to Focus on Michigan’s Bioscience Workforce

Michigan’s bioscience industry continues to navigate workforce challenges ranging from talent shortages and skills alignment to recruitment and retention. On June 8, MichBio will convene industry, education, workforce, and economic development leaders at the BioTalent Strategy Roundtable (virtual event) to discuss practical strategies and collaborative solutions to strengthen Michigan’s life sciences talent pipeline.

The interactive session builds on insights from the 2025 Michigan Bioindustry Workforce Trends Report and is designed to help advance long-term workforce growth across the state.

CRO/CDMO Participants sought for Midwest Biotech Day and CRO Showcase

Our partners at AdAstra BIO (Kansas bioscience trade association) are hosting a virtual event on June 9 focused on showcasing the CRO/CDMO capabilities available across the Midwest bioscience ecosystem.

They are currently seeking CRO and CDMO organizations interested in participating with a brief (20–30 minute) presentation highlighting their services, expertise, capabilities, capacity, and business focus. There is no cost to participate.

They are also looking to attract biotech and life sciences companies — particularly those with active R&D programs and development pipelines — to learn more about the regional resources and service providers available to support innovation and commercialization.

Alba Gutierrez Cucurull is a Biomedical Engineering student at the University of Michigan and the 2026 Association Membership & Resource Analytics Intern at MichBio. She is passionate about healthcare innovation, research, and data-driven problem solving, and is excited to support MichBio’s mission while learning more about Michigan’s biosciences ecosystem.
