Home Health Care Today Show earns national awardThe bi-weekly podcast/webcast received a Gold Award for informing, building awareness of home health care issues

DEARBORN, Mich. – The Home Health Care Today Show earned the top podcast award in the national 19th Annual Service Industry Advertising Awards competition.

The show is a bi-weekly podcast/webcast created to inform and build awareness of issues related to home health care that are important to Michigan residents.

It was launched February 2021 by the show’s host, Cleamon Moorer Jr., DBA, who is president/owner of the show’s sponsor, American Advantage Home Care, a multicultural, multilingual agency that provides home health and hospice care. The show is produced in partnership with Afro Productions LLC.

“Our goal is always to make a positive impact on the lives of Michiganders, especially those who are underserved by the health care system,” Moorer said. “In our efforts to do so, this SIAA Gold Award is validation that the quality of our work compares favorably on a national level.

“I am humbly grateful for the many renowned professionals in the health care and related industries who have shared their time and expertise to make these programs incredibly informative and engaging.”

Moorer said that topics are chosen to ensure listeners get critical information about health issues that affect Michiganders from leading experts.

The show features topical issues, such as the coronavirus, and draws topics from the national health awareness calendar to amplify the current discussion. Dr. Walter J. Cukrowski, of the Michigan Eyecare Institute with offices in Dearborn, Livonia and Southfield, was a guest in January, National Glaucoma Awareness Month. He discussed adult vision impairments, solutions, services and resources in Metropolitan Detroit. The episode has accrued 3,700 plays/views in 10 days.

In addition to noted health care providers, other guests have been representatives from state associations and foundations; those who represent health organizations, such as hospitals; government health officials; and elected leaders. The first 2022 episode features a discussion with U.S. Rep. Debbie Dingell about ways to improve U.S. home- and community-based health services. It has amassed 10,000 plays/views in 3.5 weeks.

American Advantage Home Care’s geographical service area includes 10 counties: Monroe, Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Shiawassee, Genesee, Lapeer and Saginaw, as well as eastern Washtenaw and Livingston.
