Michigan Business Network stopped by Sparrow Health System to visit the MEGA HEART! Febuary is Heart Awereness month and Stacey Sawyer of the American Heart Association has the details on what the Mega Heart is and how it is bringing about awreness.

This was a chance to walk through a giant inflatable heart and show how it works. For February’s Heart Awareness Month, Sparrow is hosting a variety of activities, including the MEGA Heart. Walk through a model of the heart and learn all about how your heart beats and why taking care of it is so important. Besides that, we have free blood pressure and cholesterol screenings, they were promoting February 2nd’s Wear Red Day.

MBN’s Operations Director Jeffrey Mosher got into the spirit on the second by participating in Wear Red Day.

There is a new shade for Sparrow as their building turns red in commemoration of the month. A Sparrow cardiologist was on hand to discuss heart healthy tips, plus a representative of the American Heart Association who gave further information about about local activities.
