Last week, the Michigan Legislature passed a balanced, bipartisan budget for Fiscal Year 2023 that represents major investments in Michigan’s economy and workforce development. The budget includes funding for several areas: economic development for food and agriculture to support agriculture processes including supply chain, infrastructure and workforce resources that have been affected due to the pandemic; the Office of Rural Development to help rural communities meet workforce, education, infrastructure and connectivity needs; and talent retention and expansion in key industries, among others.
