Build Ready Sites Program Expands, Strengthens Michigan’s Competitive Advantage

The Michigan Strategic Fund approved an increase to the delegated authority approval amount from $800,000 to $1 million for the Michigan Build Ready Sites Program (MBRSP). The program is designed to assist communities in their efforts to attract and retain businesses by increasing Michigan’s inventory of development-ready industrial sites. The MBRSP guidelines were updated to expand eligible activities that will allow the state to continue building out its inventory of move-in-ready real estate. The MBRSP strengthens Michigan’s competitive advantage as it continues to attract companies in key focus industries to locate and grow in Michigan.

Michigan Entrepreneurs Find Sweet Success Through Pure Michigan Business Connect

MEDC’s Pure Michigan Business Connect team hosted a regional initiative focused on supporting smaller, diverse-owned businesses in West Michigan in partnership with the Grand Rapids Area Revitalization Task Force, The Right Place, West Michigan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce and Local First. The Grand Sourcing Summit virtual event sought to connect minority, veteran, women and other diverse suppliers with purchasing organizations to discuss procurement opportunities. Two entrepreneurs in particular, Soldarera Coffee, a family-oriented small business focused on unique-tasting cold brew coffees, and Daddy’s Dough Cookies, a Grand Rapids-based homemade cookie company, found sweet success at the Summit.
