Canada Seeks Infrastructure Solutions

Through its new Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program, the Canadian government is strengthening efforts to improve ventilation in public and community buildings like hospitals, libraries, and community centers, with a $220 CDN million investment.

The Program sets forth to fund projects which increase outdoor air intake and air cleaning to reduce the transmission of COVID-19, including but not limited to repair or replacement of HVAC units, maintenance of existing systems to optimize operation, and installation of operable windows or portable air filtration units. According to Infrastructure Canada’s Investing in Canada Plan Project Map, there are 106 ventilation projects listed, of which 91 projects fall under the “COVID-19 Resilience” stream from Infrastructure Canada.
