MEDC | Deadline Approaching to Apply for Restart Grants

MEDC+Michigan+Economic+Development+CorporationDeadline Approaching Tonight to Apply for Restart Grants

Small businesses and nonprofits working to recover from the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 virus still have time to apply for grants of up to $20,000 through the Michigan Small Business Restart Program. On Friday, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer signed into law an amendment to the program allowing small businesses that received grants through the Michigan Small Business Relief Program to be eligible for the Michigan Small Business Restart Program grants.

The combined total of both grants cannot be in excess of $20,000. Previously, businesses that had received grants through the Small Business Relief Program were ineligible to apply for Restart grants.

The deadline for Restart Grant applications is 11:59 p.m. ET on Wednesday, August 5.

Celebrating the Resilience of Michigan’s Small Businesses

In Michigan, nearly every indicator of our state’s success is influenced by our small businesses. Whether by generating economic activity in our local communities, encouraging visitors from around the world to visit Pure Michigan, or creating a sense of shared community in all corners of the state – Michigan’s small businesses play a vital role in Michigan’s success. And as Michiganders began staying home and staying safe to help slow the spread of COVID-19 this year, Michigan’s small businesses rose to the occasion, displaying a level of creativity, collaboration and resilience that has brought their communities together during the global pandemic.
