Voucher program allows people to experience winter sports fun
MICHIGAN – (Dec. 27, 2022) – Anyone looking to enjoy the outdoors of Michigan and learn to ski or snowboard now have a great opportunity to hit the slopes thanks to a special program from the Michigan Snowsports Industries Association and Michigan McDonald’s restaurants.
The Discover Michigan Skiing program is offering discounted beginner lessons to get people started. For $45, folks can get a beginners’ ski or snowboard lesson, equipment rental, and a lift pass or a cross-country trail pass at one of 20 Michigan ski areas.
The $45 offer is good anytime during the month of January. To sign up, interested beginners must fill out a Discover Michigan Skiing Voucher and then call or register online with the ski area they want to visit to schedule a lesson. Vouchers are available at participating Michigan McDonald’s restaurants (while supplies last), at many Michigan ski retailers, and at goskimichigan.com. Program times differ from ski area to ski area.
The lessons are for skiers older than seven and snowboarders older than 10. A lesson normally covers basic maneuvering skills, including stopping and turning. It also provides instruction on basic skills like riding the ski lift and getting up after falling.
